ASSESSMENT LIST
The course here is divided into various topics and, as part of the study programme, there are a number of assessments. Assessments can be found under the various topics that make up the course. Each assessment consists of a question sheet that contains four questions covering aspects of the topic in question. The question should be answered off-line. After answering the questions you should go the assessment page for the topic (found by following the 'topic list' tab above and then the 'assessments' tab once you have reached the topic you require) and input your answers. Your results and feedback are provided automatically by e-mail.
If you want to go to the assessment page for a particular topic click on the small links immediately below. If you do not know the assessment you require, a brief outline of the assessments is given below. Click on the blue links that you will find on the left of the screen and you will be directed to the page of questions that make up the assessment. You will need to print that page out and answer the questions.
More details can be found by clicking on the 'help' tab above.

topic one assessment one
A set of four questions that require the simple identification of certain entries in the balance sheet and income statement. Students often make mistakes here and so, although the questions appear simple, it is possible that areas of misunderstanding will be spotted by this question sheet.
 | |
topic one assessment two
A set of four slightly more difficult questions (but they should still prove simple). Easy calculations are required and the object is to test your ability to 'work around' the figures in accounts.
 | |
topic two assessment one
A set of four questions asking for the calculation of simple ratios from a set of accounts. The ratios are basic ones but depend on you understanding the nature of entries in a standard British-style balance sheet and income statement.
 | |
topic two assessment two
A set of four questions asking for the calculation of slightly more difficult financial ratios than those in the first assessment for topic two. However, their calculation should pose no real problem.
 | |
topic three assessment one
A set of four questions based on the equation for the AFN which is described in one of the on-line tutorials and in Tutorial Paper No. 3.3. The questions require simple manipulation of the basic formula.
 | |
topic three assessment two
A set of four questions based on the equation for the AFN. However, slighly more difficult than those is assessment one. Manipulation and adaptation of the basic AFN formula is called for in this assessment.
 | |
topic three assessment three
A set of three questions looking at the simple forecasting methods described in one of the on-line tutorials and in Tutorial Paper No. 3.1.
 | |
topic five assessment one
A set of four questions based on the Economic Order Quantity model. Simple use of the formula is required. The basis for these questions is described in the second of the on-line tutorials, the main booklet for this topic and in Tutorial Paper No. 5.1.
 | |
topic five assessment two
A set of four questions that require a somewhat deeper knowledge of the EOQ model and some manipulation of the basic formula. The questions are based on the points made in the third on-line tutorial and in Finance Tutorial Paper No. 5.1.
